I bet the dealership assumed the hype and hoopla over the M3 (caused in part by the well publicized 30k+ above sticker markup at an LA dealer) would ensure them a high bidding war on the vehicle. Only when they realized it was in fact all hype and assumed wrong, that they refused to honor the auction. What a bunch of crooks. What a shame.
